Franklin County’s third annual Sumo Wrestling Invitational on April 15th!
When and Where: The 2016 Sumo Wrestling Invitational will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on April 15, in the Wilson Field House at Ottawa University
How the Event Works: The Sumo Wrestling Invitational is about strengthening our community and having fun with coworkers, friends, family, neighbors and colleagues. United Way challenges its corporate partners, member agencies, churches and civic groups to find a volunteer, co-worker or organizational leader willing to represent them in a Sumo Wrestling match. Once identified, these “Sumo Wrestling Champions” will compete against other representatives from challenging companies and organizations.
Everyone in the community is encouraged to attend and cheer on the brave wrestlers at the event on April 15th!
- Student admission: $1.00 a person
- General admission: $5.00 a person
- Floor seats (front row): $10 a person
- Box seats at Wilson Field House: $25 a person (Box seats will be in the front row, will include free snacks and drinks, as well as a personal attendant)
For the audience’s entertainment, March Madness style brackets listing all the competitors will be created and posted here on our website, printed in the Ottawa Herald and distributed by participating organizations. The brackets will include participant and organizational names of the Sumo Wrestling Champions. The brackets must be turned in before the first two wrestlers compete on April 15th (donations to participate are encouraged). The person with the most accurate bracket will win $200 in Ottawa Chamber bucks from the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.
