Our 2015 Sumo Wrestling Invitational to be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on April 24, in the Wilson Field House at Ottawa University is just around the corner!  During this event, companies and organizations select a representative willing to dress up in a silly sumo suit (see the photo above) to be their sumo wrestling champion and then the organization’s “champ” competes against representatives from challenging companies and organizations. Our goal is to have 16 participating companies, organizations or businesses this year.

Why a Sumo Wrestling Event:   Funds are needed to help our 17 member agencies provide vital, direct services for Franklin County residents in need.  It is our hope that the Sumo Wrestling Invitational will help us raise $12,000 in order to successfully meet this challenge.

How You Can Help Make the Sumo Wrestling Invitational a Success:  Simply contact United Way of Franklin County to become a sponsor and/or attend!  We would love for you to RSVP!

  • Student admission: $1.00 a person
  • General admission: $5.00 a person
  • Floor seats (front row): $10 a person
  • Box seats at Wilson Field House: $25 a person (Box seats will be in the front row, will include free snacks and drinks, and a personal attendant)

Meals On Wheels Dinner and Pie Auction Volunteers Needed!

For the Sat., March 14th Meals on Wheels Dinner and Pie Auction at Sacred Heart Parish Center we need volunteers to help serve food, provide kitchen support and clean up.  Volunteers will need to wear black pants and a white shirt and we are requesting that each volunteer be able to donate three hours of their time beginning at 6:00 PM on March 14th.
